Ozempik does help to lose weight, but it does not instill healthy eating habits in a person, and therefore does not change his lifestyle. Without sports, a nutritious diet and routine habits, weight loss on the drug quickly becomes meaningless. About this in an interview with YouTube-channel "Komersant Ukrainian" told fitness trainer, nutriciologist Victor Mandziak.
“I’m a nutriciologist, and I’m not against ozempik. Throughout the history of the struggle of mankind with obesity there has appeared a really working drug, which has practically no side effects. But when a person loses weight without the drug, they learn to eat healthy, love sports, and acquire new constructive habits. People do not learn anything on ozempik, because they think like this: why diet, if there is a magic pill,” he said.
Mandziak also explained how the drug works.
“Ozempik is a synthetic analog of the satiety hormone GLP-1. When you take it – you are satiated, and the body begins to draw energy from its own reserves, including – fat reserves,” he specified.” he said.

However, according to the specialist, this approach can have serious consequences.
“People on ozempik do not do strength exercises because there is a magic injection. Because of this, they lose muscle – from 20% to 40% of their body weight, namely muscle tissue. There is such a concept as “Ozempic buttocks”, when due to the loss of the large gluteal muscle, women lose shape, “- he informs.
The specialist adds that after giving up injections, most people quickly gain “starting” weight.
“When the body loses fat, the level of the hormone leptin – the satiety hormone – decreases. We stop injecting Ozempic, and the appetite becomes beastly. A person begins to eat as if he is not himself,” he emphasizes.
Mandziak admits: the drug can be a temporary help for those who are just starting to change their lifestyle.
“Ozempik can be used as temporary crutches when it is very difficult to change your habits. But if you don’t learn to eat healthy, don’t move and don’t sleep normally, the result won’t last. Therefore, either you take Ozempik for life, or you start working on yourself,” he summarized.
Recall that the drug “Ozempik” (active ingredient – semaglutide) was first developed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. However, in recent years, it has become popular among those who seek to lose weight quickly. Doctors warn: uncontrolled use of such a drug can lead to serious side effects and metabolic disorders.
