Ukraine has the lowest wheat harvest in 20 years, but record grain quality – Povoroznyuk

This year’s wheat harvest in Ukraine is the worst in two decades. At the same time, laboratory tests show record grain quality. Oleksandr Povorozniuk, director of Agrofirma Pyatikhatska LLC, said this in an interview with the YouTube channel "Komersant Ukrainian".
“This year’s wheat harvest is the worst in the last 20 years that I have been working. We have never harvested such a crop before,” said Mr. Povorozniuk.
According to the agrarian, despite the critically low yields, the laboratory results of the grain showed an extremely high protein and gluten content.
“The quality is confirmed by laboratory tests. We have never had such quality of grain since I have been a farmer. Protein is at 18%, and gluten is up to 38%,” he said.
Due to falling market prices and predicted problems with milling wheat, farmers are keeping grain in warehouses, which is already affecting the flour market, Povorozniuk said.
