Power Outage on March 19: How the Restrictions Will Apply
19 March 04:00
On Thursday, March 19, Ukraine will impose power restrictions on industrial consumers. These measures are a response to the consequences of Russian attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing NPC “Ukrenergo.”
What power outage schedules will be in effect on March 19
According to energy officials, power restrictions for businesses will be in effect across all regions of Ukraine from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The main reason for these measures is damage to energy facilities caused by missile and drone attacks.
Will there be power outages for the general public?
Ukrenergo noted that, at this time, power outages for residential consumers are not expected.
At the same time, energy officials warn that the situation may change depending on the state of the power grid.
Ukrainians are urged to conserve electricity
Experts advise citizens to use electricity responsibly to avoid placing an additional burden on the grid.
In particular, it is recommended to:
- use high-power appliances during daytime hours
- not to turn on several energy-intensive appliances at the same time
- monitor announcements from the regional power company
Why is the load on the power grid increasing?
According to Ukrenergo, an increase in electricity consumption was recorded on March 18.
Among the main reasons:
- deteriorating weather conditions
- cloudy skies in most regions
- reduced efficiency of residential solar power plants.
As a result, energy providers are forced to impose restrictions on industry.
What energy officials recommend
Ukrainians are advised to regularly check information about the power supply situation on the official websites of power grid operators.
Experts emphasize that conserving electricity helps stabilize the grid.
