22 November 07:27
Ukraine is expecting a gradual reduction in the duration of power outages in the coming days. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko after a government meeting with the heads of regions and energy structures, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
According to the head of the government, the team held an urgent meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba, acting Energy Minister Artem Nekrasov, representatives of the President’s Office and Ukrenergo CEO Vitaliy Zaichenko.
The main goal was to stabilize energy supply after massive Russian shelling that damaged all major thermal and hydroelectric power plants.
What was decided at the meeting
During the meeting, the participants heard reports from the JMA on the situation with electricity, electricity and heat supply to the population and the state of critical infrastructure.
Particular attention was paid to finding solutions that would reduce the duration of scheduled and emergency outages.
Svyrydenko emphasized that the government has set clear tasks for ministries, energy companies and regional military administrations.
“We expect to reduce blackouts in the coming days,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

Russia’s massive strikes on the energy sector
All major thermal and hydroelectric power plants in Ukraine have been damaged as a result of Russian attacks.
Electricity exports are currently not being carried out. All electricity produced is used exclusively for domestic consumption.
Despite the difficult situation, the government and the energy sector are working to gradually reduce the deficit and shorten the dark hours for Ukrainians.
