Power cuts: after 14:00, regional power companies will apply four stages

Today, 12 July, electricity consumption in Ukraine is consistently high due to the heatwave. Therefore, consumption restrictions will be in place throughout the day, and from 14:00 to 24:00, regional power companies will apply four rounds of blackouts. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Ukrenergo.
“Today, on 12 July, regional power distribution companies are applying consumption restrictions throughout the day. From 14:00 to 24:00, four stages of hourly outage schedules will be used to compensate for the energy shortage in the system, and three stages will be used at other times,”
– the statement said.
The temperature in the country exceeds 33 C. According to the forecast of the Ukrenergo Dispatch Centre, today’s consumption will remain high at the maximum and significantly exceeds the available capacity in the system to cover it.
Ukrenergo reminded that consumers in each region that are not included in the list of critical infrastructure facilities are divided into 6 queues (groups). The application of restrictions to three queues means that half of the consumers in each region are subject to hourly outage schedules. Four queues mean that up to 70% of consumers in each region are subject to the schedule.

Today, from 00:00 to 06:00, Ukrenergo engaged emergency supplies from the Polish power system to reduce the deficit. In the evening, Ukrenergo’s Dispatch Centre also plans to engage emergency supplies from European countries to maintain reserves in the system and reduce the energy deficit.
Today, a total of 25,089 MWh of electricity will be imported from Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Moldova, with a maximum capacity of 1,396 MW. Due to the heatwave and increased consumption in Europe, the volume of imports has decreased compared to yesterday.
No electricity exports are taking place and are not expected.
As of this morning, 478 settlements remain without power.
Due tobad weather: there are power outages in Ivano-Frankivsk region
Due tohostilities: there are power cuts in Dnipropetrovska, Donetska, Sumska, Kharkivska, Khersonska, Chernihivska oblasts.
For technical reasons: power outages in Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions. The technical reasons for the outages are related to the impact of heat on high-voltage equipment and power lines, as well as the consequences of hostilities in the frontline regions.
