Famous left-wing philosopher Slavoj Žižek believes that the West should provide Ukraine with nuclear weapons to fight Russia. He said this in the programme“Uncensored with Piers Morgan“, Kommersant Ukrainian reports https://www.komersant.info/

During the conversation, the journalist noted that giving up nuclear weapons was a huge mistake for Ukraine, as it was an invitation to invade Putin.

“Absolutely. They should have kept this precautionary measure. Obviously, it started in Georgia, Crimea, Moldova and so on. Russia is an imperialist invading state, they openly say so themselves. And the longer we tolerate this, the more terrible the final confrontation will be,” he said,

– žižek agreed.

He noted that if you read the Russian media, it becomes obvious that Russia today is a country of religious fundamentalism.

“They are terribly returning to religious fundamentalism, they are portraying the war in Ukraine as a war of Christian civilisation against diabolical Satanism. They are fanatical religious fundamentalists. They must be stopped unconditionally,”

– the philosopher called.

Therefore, he believes that the West’s support for Ukraine should be maximised, and Ukraine should receive everything it needs to win.

“The West must stop this game: “we support Ukraine, but not too much, so as not to irritate Russia and accidentally hurt our high standards of living”. No. We are in a state of emergency. We, Europe,”

– he said.

“I say give Ukraine nuclear weapons. I say this as a leftist. We have to do everything possible,”

– the philosopher urged.
