Renowned chef Yevgen Klopotenko will develop recipes for Ukrainian Armed Forces cooks: what is known

3 March 14:12

Renowned Ukrainian chef Yevgen Klopotenko will compile recipes for cooks in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He has joined the Defense Procurement Agency’s project “Preparing for Battle,” according to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".

“Most military cooks do not have specialized training, and there are no clearly defined algorithms for their work. Even if the products are delivered on time and meet the standards, the result in the kitchen may vary depending on the conditions, equipment, and experience of the people,” the ministry’s press service said.

The “Preparing for Battle” project will be part of a reform to improve the quality of military food. As part of this initiative, a practical recipe book will be compiled for cooks in the units.

The recipes will be developed in collaboration with Yevhen Klopotenko’s NGO “Kult Food.” The press service of the Ministry of Defense emphasized that this will help “unify and systematize the experience of units in organizing food service.”

Yevhen Klopotenko is a leading Ukrainian chef, restaurateur, and social activist known for his work in promoting Ukrainian cuisine around the world and reforming school meals.

It should be noted that Yevhen Klopotenko previously developed menus for schools, as well as menus of hot meals for long-distance trains of Ukrzaliznytsia.
