From today, an electronic ticket will be equivalent to a paper ticket

The law on the definition of an electronic ticket, along with a paper ticket, as the basis for concluding a passenger and baggage transportation contract comes into force today, 28 June. This is stated in the published law, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed Law No. 5705, which gives legal force to the electronic ticket. The law stipulates that electronic and paper tickets in public transport are equivalent.
The law applies to road and urban electric transport, including buses, trams and trolleybuses. An electronic ticket now has the status of an official document for the transportation of passengers and their luggage.
The law also aims to create conditions for the effective functioning of an automated fare collection system in public transport.
Local authorities can access specialised software through the transport portal e-transport.gov.ua.
It should be noted that the Verkhovna Rada passed this draft law in the first reading in January 2022, and on 5 June 2024 – in the second reading and in general.
