The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Legal Policy has decided to submit the resignation of Justice Minister Herman Halushchenko to the parliament for consideration.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the press service of the Verkhovna Rada.

It is noted that the Verkhovna Rada has already received a submission from the Prime Minister on the dismissal of the Minister, as well as Galushchenko’s personal resignation.

As a reminder, on April 29, 2021, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Herman Halushchenko as the Minister of Energy of Ukraine. Following the resignation of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on July 16, 2025, and the formation of a new government led by Yulia Svyrydenko, Halushchenko left the energy ministry to head the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.

Corruption scandal at Energoatom

As a reminder, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau exposed a criminal organization that took bribes from Energoatom’s contractors as part of Operation Midas.

Among the members of the organization are former advisor to the Minister of Energy Ihor Myroniuk, Energoatom’s Security Director Dmytro Basov and others.

The organization’s activities were probably coordinated by businessman Timur Mindich.

According to law enforcement, Justice Minister Herman Halushchenko and former Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov were also involved in the scheme.
