The war was started by Ukraine: Putin makes another cynical statement

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has once again decided to justify his attack on Ukraine. He said that Ukraine started the war in 2014, while Russia is now making every attempt to end it.
Putin said this nonsense during a meeting at one of the command centers of the Joint Forces Group, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports, citing the Kremlin’s press service.
“The Kyiv authorities have decided to launch large-scale hostilities. A war. To start a war. We are trying to end it. From the very beginning, we said that it was necessary to withdraw the troops of the Kyiv regime from these territories. And there will be no combat actions. They would not have happened if we had been listened to then,” Putin said.
The Russian dictator again mentioned the Maidan. He emphasized that the fighting was launched after a “coup d’état” took place in Ukraine.
Putin cynically noted that “the Kyiv regime is in no hurry to resolve the conflict,” as he had said a year ago during a speech at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to the Russian dictator, there are people in the West who recommend that Kyiv accept good conditions for ending the conflict. However, “the leaders of the Kyiv regime do not want to resolve the conflict by peaceful means.”
Putin noted that in this case, Russia will solve all the tasks it faces militarily, “if the Kyiv regime does not want to end the matter peacefully.”
Also during the meeting, Putin said that Russia’s interest in withdrawing Ukrainian troops from the territories they occupy is reduced to zero amid the pace of the Russian army’s offensive.
