Soldier tried to poison the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Zaporizhzhia

A Ukrainian soldier, who turned out to be an FSB agent, was going to fatally poison the commanders of a combat unit in Zaporizhzhia region. This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine, according to Kommersant Ukrainian
The soldier planned to add a poisonous substance to the water of the bath and laundry complex used by the command staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
SBU officers detained the FSB agent as he was preparing to commit the sabotage.
The investigation also established that the offender was reconnoitering for the FSB the locations and movements of the Armed Forces units on the front line.
According to the investigation, the suspect was recruited through his parents, who live in the temporarily occupied part of Luhansk region.
“The investigation established that the invaders kidnapped the man’s relatives right from their home and then imprisoned them in a local Russian torture chamber. There, the victims were subjected to brutal torture, demanding that they persuade their son to work for the aggressor country,”
– the SBU said.


Further communication between the traitor and his Russian “curator” took place through an anonymous chat in a messenger.
During the search, the SBU seized the mobile phone he used to communicate with the occupiers.


Based on the collected evidence, the SBU investigators served him a notice of suspicion under Part 2 Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
The offender is currently in custody. He faces life imprisonment.
