Bundestag President Julia Klöckner arrived in Kyiv on a visit.

She was met at the capital’s railway station by Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Stefanchuk announced this on social media and posted photos of the meeting, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

First visit after election

According to the head of parliament, Julia Klöckner arrived in Kyiv for the first time since her election as President of the Bundestag.

“For the first time since her election, the President of the Bundestag of the Federal Republic of Germany, Julia Klöckner, arrived in Kyiv at my invitation,” Ruslan Stefanchuk said.

A political signal of support

Stefanchuk stressed that the visit of the head of the German parliament is of great political significance.

According to him, it is a clear signal of solidarity with Ukraine and support at the highest parliamentary level.

“At a time when Russia continues its war against our state, the presence of the leadership of the German parliament in Kyiv is of particular importance,” said the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada.

German politicians have repeatedly stated the need to continue supporting Ukraine.

In particular, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that there was no reason to even discuss easing sanctions against Russia.

Also, according to the German publication Der Spiegel, Germany, together with its European partners, has organized the supply of about 35 missiles to Ukraine for the Patriot PAC-3 air defense system.
