Payments to depositors of Motor-Bank JSC have been temporarily suspended: what are the reasons?

As of March 31, 2026, the Deposit Insurance Fund has temporarily suspended payments to depositors of Motor-Bank JSC.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Deposit Insurance Fund.
The decision is related to the completion by the Fund’s authorized representative of the full technical cycle of compiling a list of depositors, as well as the implementation of the bank’s settlement plan within the framework of the temporary administration procedure.
At the same time, the bank’s clients, both individuals and legal entities, retain the ability to conduct settlement transactions within the limits of funds received in their accounts after the introduction of temporary administration.
The further procedure for payments will depend on the results of the tender. If a decision is made to liquidate the bank, guaranteed compensation payments will resume. If, however, a resolution scenario without liquidation is implemented, obligations to depositors will be transferred to another bank, while service terms will remain unchanged.
Additional information regarding the procedure for receiving funds will be published on the official websites of the Deposit Guarantee Fund for Individuals and the bank.
As a reminder, the temporary administration at Motor-Bank has been in effect since February 20, 2026. On February 23, the Fund launched an open tender for the bank’s resolution through a method other than liquidation, and on March 12, it began disbursing guaranteed compensation for deposits maturing on or before February 19, 2026, as well as for accounts.
Back in September 2024, Ukraine became the owner of 100% of the shares of Motor-Bank JSC, which were confiscated from Vyacheslav Boguslaev, the former president of Motor Sich and a suspect in high treason.
