Authorities urgently evacuate residents of Kupyansk and neighbouring communities

The authorities of Kharkiv region have announced the evacuation of all civilians from Kupyansk and nearby settlements due to the deteriorating security situation. The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, said this on the air of a national telethon, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

Thus, people will be evacuated, in particular, from the settlements of Kindrashivka, Kurylivka, Petropavlivka and other villages.

Sinegubov said that the security situation in the region has deteriorated, making it impossible to ensure the heating season, humanitarian aid and electricity supply for the population.

According to Sinegubov, 7,000 people currently live in Kupyansk: 4,000 on the left bank of the Oskil River, which divides the city, and another 3,000 on the right bank.

The head of the Regional Military Administration says that places for evacuees have been prepared in Kharkiv, and logistical routes have been provided for people to leave Kupiansk district, both to Kharkiv and other regions.

At the same time, the mandatory evacuation of families with children was announced in Borova, a town in Izyum district. According to Sinegubov, 134 families currently live there.

It should be noted that according to the General Staff, Russians carried out 26 attacks in the Kupyansk sector over the last day. Ukrainian defence forces stopped all enemy assaults in the areas of Sinkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Kruglyakivka, Kolisnykivka, Holubivka, Petropavlivka, Pershotravneve, Lozova and Vyshneve.
