Ukrainians are consuming less sugar. This was stated by Yana Kavushevska, the head of the Ukrtsukor Association, in an interview with the YouTube channel "Komersant Ukrainian".
“Previously, Ukrainians consumed 1.2 million tons of sugar per year, but after 2022 this figure dropped to 900 thousand tons,” she said.
According to her, this was influenced by the emigration of the population and a drop in purchasing power as a result of the war.
“The purchasing power has decreased, and this directly affected the domestic market,” Kavushevska added.
