Vodafone has announced an increase in the cost of a number of its contract tariffs starting March 1. This is stated in a message on the mobile operator’s website, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

The decision was made due to rising costs for network maintenance and development.

In addition, from March 18, 2025, Vodafone SuperNet Pro 2019 will be closed and subscribers will be automatically transferred to the updated Vodafone SuperNet Pro tariff, which will cost UAH 340 per month. The transition to the new tariff will be free of charge.

Vodafone explains the need to increase tariffs by increasing the cost of maintaining and developing the network, as well as the desire to improve the quality of services provided. The company also notes that in some tariff plans, along with the increase in price, the package of services provided will be expanded, including more Internet traffic and additional minutes for calls.

The mobile operator recommends that its customers familiarize themselves with the updated terms of the tariff plans and, if necessary, choose the most suitable option that meets their needs and budget.

Why are Ukrainian mobile operators raising tariffs in 2025?

In 2025, Ukraine’s leading mobile operators, such as Vodafone, lifecell, and Kyivstar, announced tariff increases for their services. Experts and industry representatives identify several key factors contributing to this decision.

  1. Rising electricity costs. DVL CEO Mykhailo Shelemba noted that the main reason for the tariff increase is the rise in electricity prices, which significantly affects the operating costs of all mobile operators.
  2. Increase in operating expenses. Lifecell pointed to a significant deterioration in the economic situation, including rising costs for electricity, fuel, rent and taxes, which directly affects the cost of services provided.
  3. Investments in infrastructure and communication quality. Operators continue to invest in improving and restoring network infrastructure, especially in the context of military operations. This includes repairing damaged equipment, ensuring network operation during power outages, and strengthening protection against cyberattacks.
  4. Inflationary processes and the tax burden. Digital technology expert Oleksandr Glushchenko emphasized that the increase in tariffs is also due to inflation and an increase in the tax burden on telecom operators.

However, some experts believe that price increases are not always justified by objective economic factors. Andriy Pavlovsky, a social policy expert, believes that in some cases, operators revise tariffs without good reason, driven by a desire to increase profits.
