Enemy has partial success in the Pokrovske sector, – General Staff

On 28 May, 25 firefights took place in the Pokrovsk sector. The enemy had partial success in some areas. This direction remains the most active in terms of the number of enemy attacks. This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
It is noted that during the day, the Russian invaders launched 3 missile attacks on the territory of Ukraine using 4 missiles and 38 air strikes using 57 CABs, involving 435 kamikaze drones.
In addition, the enemy fired 2,849 times at the positions of the Ukrainian Defence Forces and populated areas using various types of weapons.
To date, about 110 combat engagements have taken place at the front.
“Russian invaders are trying to use their superiority in manpower, equipment and air support. Ukrainian soldiers are fighting back, and in some areas they are taking effective active measures to improve the stability of the defence,”
– the General Staff said.
According to the report, the situation at the front remains tense but under control. The defence forces continue to resolutely counteract the enemy’s attempts to advance into the depths of Ukraine’s territory, and are making efforts to disrupt the occupiers’ offensive plans.
Seven combat engagements took place in theKharkiv sector. Units of the Defence Forces repelled four assault actions of the Russian occupiers in the areas of Starytsia and Vovchansk. The situation is tense, but controlled by Ukrainian troops. The battle in the area of Vovchansk is currently ongoing. Our defenders are actively countering and inflicting losses on the enemy.
Preliminary, the enemy’s losses since the beginning of the day in this area amounted to 68 people. Three artillery systems, 12 vehicles and three units of special equipment were destroyed. Two tanks, three artillery systems, seven vehicles and one special vehicle were damaged.
There were 19 combat engagements in theKupyansk sector. Ukrainian defence forces successfully repelled 16 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Sinkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Druzhelyubivka, Novoyehorivka and Nevske. Another combat engagement is ongoing in the areas of Petropavlivka and Nevske.
There were 16 firefights in theLiman sector. Attempts by Russian occupants to advance in the areas of Terny, Torsky and Serebryansky forest were unsuccessful. Despite the enemy’s activity, the Ukrainian military is taking measures to strengthen the front line of defence.
In theSiverskyi sector, the enemy attacked our positions eight times near Bilohorivka, where they tried to break into the combat order of Ukrainian units. The situation is tense. Ukraine’s defenders are making every effort to prevent the Russian occupiers from advancing deeper into our territory.
In theKramatorsk sector, the aggressor attempted to attack the Ukrainian Defence Forces six times in the areas of Hryhorivka, Klishchiyivka and Andriivka. All attempts were unsuccessful. No losses of our positions were allowed.
The enemy attacked Ukrainian defenders intensively in the Pokrovske direction. Here, during the day, sometimes with the support of aviation, the aggressor carried out 25 assault actions and tried to build up significant fire control efforts along almost the entire contact line. In some areas, the enemy has had partial success. The defence forces are taking measures to stabilise the situation and prevent the enemy from advancing.
Preliminary losses of the aggressor in this area amounted to more than 220 occupants killed and wounded. Six armoured combat vehicles, four vehicles and one ATGM were destroyed. One armoured combat vehicle, one cannon and two mortars were damaged.
There are nine combat engagements in theKurakhove sector at this time of day. The invaders are trying to advance in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka and Vodiane. Units of the Defence Forces are repelling the enemy’s attacks and strengthening the resilience of the defensive lines.
In theVremivsk sector, the Russian occupiers continue to try to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions. Our soldiers repelled six attacks in the area of Staromayorske. One is still ongoing. The defence forces control the situation.
