Attack on Ukrainian Railways facilities
The Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba said that the logistics infrastructure was attacked – the railroad and port facilities were hit. A traction substation of Ukrainian Railways was hit in Chernihiv region. Power engineers began to repair the damage, but the Russian Armed Forces sent drones to the site. Thanks to the monitoring system, the workers were taken to a safe place in time, and there were no injuries, Kuleba said. Backup diesel locomotives are being used to ensure train traffic.
Ukrainian railroad company Ukrzaliznytsia clarified that a number of trains are running with delays in the Sumy direction. For example, trains #46 Uzhhorod – Kharkiv and #113 Kharkiv – Lviv departed from Plisky station with more than an hour delay due to the replacement of the locomotive traction.
Port facilities damaged
In addition, according to Kuleba, the port infrastructure was attacked, and some facilities were damaged. The fires were quickly localized. The workers were in shelters, so there were no casualties. A number of ports are not accepting trains. According to some media outlets in Odesa region, there may be strikes on the infrastructure at the Pivdennyi port near Odesa.
Russian troops also attacked energy infrastructure in the Nizhyn district of Chernihiv region. One of the facilities was hit, Chernihivoblenergo reported. According to the company, 2700 subscribers were left without electricity. Power engineers are working to eliminate the accidents, but the damage is “very large-scale.”
