Law enforcement agencies have identified 13 of the 16 executed servicemen who surrendered in the Pokrovsk sector. This was announced by the head of the War Department of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Belousov, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“Regarding the latest cases. We are working on the execution of 16 soldiers and have established the data of our 13 soldiers, and we are establishing the data of three more, because there is no access to the military unit,” he said.

The representative of the Prosecutor General’s Office noted that SBU officers had identified a Russian Federation unit that may have been involved in the execution.

The official also commented on the shooting of nine Ukrainian soldiers on 10 October in the Kursk region of Russia.

“We understand who these soldiers were. The details of the shooting of our prisoners of war are being clarified. We know the location where it happened in the Kursk region, and we are searching for two Russian units that may be involved in the shooting,” Belousov said.

Belousov said that over the past year, the number of executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war has increased, and conditions in the detention centres in Russia where Ukrainian prisoners are held have deteriorated significantly. This may indicate relevant instructions from the top.
