Against the backdrop of full-scale war, discussions about the possibility of holding elections in Ukraine continue. At the same time, the question is not only about political expediency, but also about the real possibility of ensuring security, equal participation, and respect for the electoral rights of all citizens, including military personnel. This was discussed in an interview with the YouTube channel
“Considering the need for change in the country, it is already too late. These changes should have been implemented earlier.
But the possibility is another question, and it is a key one. Because for us, the question is not only about holding elections, but also about ensuring everyone’s participation and ensuring everyone’s right to vote and be elected. And there is a certain category of people, for example, military personnel, who cannot participate while they are in military service. Therefore, this is more of a legal issue, and also a security issue,” she believes.
The MP expressed skepticism about the idea of electronic voting in the Ukrainian context and warned of the risks that could accompany the electoral process during wartime or post-war periods. According to her, Ukraine currently does not have sufficient safeguards to ensure the integrity of such elections, and the widespread availability of weapons only exacerbates the threats.
“I do not believe in the possibility of fair online elections. This will create certain risks regarding the voting results. Whatever the program is written, those will be the results.
Still, I would like to see fair elections, although I am sure that they will be among the dirtiest in the history of Ukraine and among the most crime-ridden, criminal in the history of Ukraine. Just imagine the amount of weapons that are currently buried, hidden, whatever you want to call it. And imagine what a fight for power it will be,” she concluded.
