“Bogolyubov’s departure became possible due to agreements or a weak link at the border” – lawyer Mykola Holomsha

Gennadiy Boholyubov, 62, co-owner of Privat Group and business partner of Ihor Kolomoisky, left Ukraine using someone else’s passport, which is probably invalid. According to the SBI, the businessman was assisted by an employee of the State Border Guard Service.
This escape became possible at a time when border guards catch dozens of f ugitives from the country on the western border every day, and some of them are even killed. The situation has caused a public outcry and indignation, as many people suspect that the law is unwritten for some.
Lawyer Mykola Golomsha admits that in the case of Boholyubov, there may well be “agreements” at the highest level. He stressed that due to the high-profile nature of Bogolyubov’s case, it is unlikely that his departure was due to an oversight.
“I think there may be some agreements. We need to find out what is behind them. I doubt very much that he was overlooked,”
– the expert said.
He noted that control and operational support usually do not give a chance for unauthorised departure.
“Chances can only be given by a weak link, who was entrusted with the main responsibility, who could be ‘persuaded’. Or there was an agreement somewhere else,”
– golomsha suggested.
The lawyer drew particular attention to the fact that Bogolyubov was wearing an electronic bracelet:
“Especially when a person has a bracelet, how can you miss it or miss it?”
Gennadiy Bogolyubov is known as the closest partner of oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky, who has been detained in Ukraine since autumn 2023. Kolomoisky is charged with financial fraud, money laundering and organising a contract killing.
Some experts speculate that Bogolyubov’s sudden departure from Ukraine may be linked to the investigation into the Privatbank case – the businessman could have left the country to avoid being served with a notice of suspicion in this high-profile case.
