Men’s departure abroad from 17 July: border guards name mandatory condition
17 July 2024 12:05
Starting from 00:00 on 17 July, border guards will check the presence of a military registration document for all Ukrainian men aged 18 to 60 when leaving Ukraine. The State Border Guard Service reminded about the innovation, reports
From now on, when crossing the border to leave, border guards will check military registration documents of all Ukrainian male citizens aged 18 to 60. The document can be either in paper or electronic form.
“In the absence of a military registration document, border guards refuse to cross the state border to leave Ukraine,”
– the border guards said.
Another reason for refusal will be the presence in the Unified State Register of Conscripts, Persons Liable for Military Service and Reservists of information about the person’s being wanted by the National Police. In such cases, a police officer will be called to the place of administrative detention of the person and his/her delivery to the nearest territorial centre of recruitment and social support.
The SBGS reminded that the documents of men who have the right to leave due to deferment from conscription or exclusion from military registration must contain information on obtaining such deferment or exclusion from military registration or a certificate in the form specified in Annex 6 of the Procedure for Conscription of Citizens for Military Service during Mobilisation, for a Special Period, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 560 of 16.05.2024.
The categories of persons who are allowed to leave Ukraine in accordance with the Rules for Crossing the Border by Citizens of Ukraine have not been changed to date.
It should be noted that 16 July was the last day for updating military registration data. All men and women liable for military service aged 18 to 60 had to do so.
