Leaving Ukraine: the State Border Guard Service announced new requirements for men

5 July 2024 17:52

Starting from 17 July, border guards will check the military registration documents of all men aged 18 to 60 at the border. This was announced by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, during a national telethon on Friday, 5 July, reports "Komersant Ukrainian".

The date was not chosen by chance: it is 17 July when the deadline for updating personal data in the TCC expires in Ukraine. Therefore, male passengers of the above age will have to show a military ID to the border guards. The document can be presented in both paper and electronic formats.

“In the absence of a military registration document, border guards will refuse to cross the state border to leave Ukraine,” Demchenko said.

He clarified that such measures will apply even to men who are entitled to a deferment. And people wanted by the police at the request of the MCC will not be allowed to go abroad, but will be handed over to police officers.

How to generate an electronic military ID card if you do not have a paper one

Starting from 18 June, an electronic military registration document that has the same legal force as a paper document became available in the Reserve app. By scanning the QR code, authorised bodies can check its validity and obtain all the necessary information.

To receive an electronic military registration document, you just need to log in to the Reserve app and update your information. If you have already updated your data before, download the application again from the App Store or Google Play Market.
