How to calculate the competitive score for admission: instructions from the Ministry of Education

The admission campaign is in full swing, and many applicants are wondering how to calculate their competitive score to understand their chances of getting into the university of their choice The answer to this question will help you avoid unpleasant surprises and prepare your documents correctly. How to calculate a competitive score, "Komersant Ukrainian" tells with reference to the Ministry of Education.
Future students can use an online calculator on the official website of the admission campaign. It allows you to calculate the competitive score for admission on the basis of a complete general secondary education (11th grade) or an educational and professional degree of junior specialist, junior bachelor, professional junior bachelor based on the results of NMT/ZNO (NRC5).
How to use the calculator:
Fill in the fields with the scores of the entrance examinations (NMT/ZNO) and the corresponding coefficients for the chosen speciality. You can view the coefficients in Appendix 7 to the Admission Procedure.
For NMT/ZNO of all years, the coefficients of 2024 are valid.
If admission involves a creative competition, you should additionally fill in the field “Entrance test 5” with the appropriate coefficient from Appendix 7.
If you are applying to the fields of agrarian sciences, economics and management on the basis of NQF5 and have taken or registered for the BEFEE, fill in the field “Entrance test 6” with a weighting factor of 1.
Indicate the amount of additional points (if any):
- from 0-10 – for successful completion of preparatory courses of the HEI in the year of admission for admission to specialities that receive special support (Appendix 6);
- 10 – filled in by prize-winners and winners of the European and World Championships in Olympic sports (including among schoolchildren), the World Gymnasium, and the Ukrainian Championships (in Olympic sports) when applying for the specialities Secondary Education (Physical Education) and Physical Education and Sports.
In the following fields, change the values of the coefficients (if necessary):
- regional coefficient – if the selected HEI is located in Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv (1.07) or Dnipro, Poltava regions, as well as Bucha district of Kyiv region (1.04).
- sectoral coefficient – 1.02 if you apply with priorities 1 and 2 for specialities that receive special support (Appendix 6 to the Admission Procedure).
After filling in all the fields, click “Calculate” – the calculator will give you the final competitive score.

The Ministry of Education noted that the calculator is flexible enough to take into account different situations and bonuses for applicants. The main thing is to fill in the required fields correctly.
