Air pollution levels are rising in the Ukrainian capital. This is especially true of the left bank, where an increased concentration of suspended particles (dust) has been recorded, reports "Komersant Ukrainian" citing information from the Kyiv City Military Administration.
Air quality indicators at monitoring stations
The air quality in Kyiv today is very different on different sides of the city. Residents of the right bank can breathe clean air, while the air on the left bank is polluted.
The following results were recorded at stationary air monitoring stations in Kyiv:
right bank
- 64-G European Union Avenue – the overall air quality index is 39 (low level of pollution);
- 20 Shchuseva St. – air quality index is 48 (low level);
- 28 Turivska St. – quality index 18 (low level of pollution);
- 97 Beresteysky Avenue – quality index 31 (low level of pollution);
- 22 Kitaivska Street – quality index 35 (low level of pollution);
left bank
- kharkivske Shosse, 7/1 – quality index 82 (high level of pollution);
- 26, Arkhitektora Verbytskoho St. – air quality index 77 (high level).

The Comprehensive Air Quality Index (CAQI) is calculated automatically based on the concentration of several major pollutants. The lower the index, the cleaner the air.
