The weather in Ukraine this Easter won’t be particularly pleasant. On Sunday, April 12, forecasters predict rain, occasional sunny spells, and a modest rise in temperatures across most of the country. According to meteorologist Natalka Didenko, on Easter night the air temperature will be 2–5 degrees, and during the day it is expected to be 7–11 degrees Celsius. On the Left Bank, it will be slightly warmer— 8–14 degrees, reports "Komersant Ukrainian"
What will the weather be like on Easter night?
Easter night in Ukraine will be cold. Forecasters warn that despite it being mid-April on the calendar, there will still be a chance of frost in some regions. According to Natalka Didenko, the risk of frost will remain unless the sky is completely overcast.
In other words, Easter night promises to be damp, cool, and not very spring-like, and in some places, weather conditions may resemble early March rather than mid-April.
What will the weather be like during the day on April 12
On the afternoon of April 12, Easter Sunday, forecasters do not predict a significant warming. In most regions, the air temperature will rise only to 7–11 degrees.
It will be slightly warmer on the Left Bank, where the air will warm up to 8–14 degrees. However, overall, the Easter weather will remain quite cool, and the main feature of the day will be rain across almost the entire country.
Where rain is expected on Easter
According to Natalka Didenko’s forecast, on Sunday, April 12, it will rain almost everywhere in Ukraine. Precipitation is expected in nearly all regions, though brief clear spells are possible in some areas.
Thus, Easter 2026 is unlikely to be dry and sunny. Ukrainians should prepare for a wet and cool holiday.
What will the weather be like in Kyiv and the region
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center forecasts two distinct weather periods for the Kyiv region and Kyiv. The first will last from April 11–13 and will be unpleasant, cold, and rainy. During this time, the capital may see nighttime frosts of 0–2 degrees, while the region may see 0–3 degrees.
Precipitation during this period will mainly be in the form of rain, although wet snow is possible in some areas on the night of April 11. According to the forecast, the sky will remain cloudy for the first three days, and humidity will be high.
When will it start to warm up in Ukraine?
Forecasters predict more optimistic weather changes as early as April 14–15. It is expected that after Easter, there will be no frost in the air, with nighttime temperatures ranging from 1 to 6 degrees and a more pleasant daytime warming to 11–16 degrees.
In other words, true spring warmth will arrive after the holidays, while Easter itself in Ukraine will be marked by rain, dampness, and cool temperatures.
Why the weather remains so cold
Even though it’s almost mid-April on the calendar, winter has unexpectedly returned to Ukraine. Some regions are experiencing nighttime frosts, and it’s been snowing in the capital for the second day in a row.
It is this cold snap that has shaped the overall picture of Easter weather: low temperatures, precipitation, high humidity, and a lack of sunshine.
