Cold and dry weather with severe frosts at night continues in Ukraine. Forecasters warn of icy roads and increased ice formation on rivers in a number of regions.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
Severe frosts across the country
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, cold weather without precipitation is expected tomorrow in most regions of Ukraine.
At night, the temperature will drop from -20 to -25 degrees, and during the day it will be from -12 to -17 degrees. In the Carpathian region, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions, temperatures are forecast to reach -20 degrees at night and -14 degrees during the day.
In the southern regions, the cold will be slightly milder: at night from -9 to -14 degrees, during the day from -4 to -9 degrees.
In Crimea and Zakarpattia, temperatures will drop to -6 degrees at night, and in Zakarpattia, temperatures will be around zero degrees in some places during the day.
Precipitation will be minimal, but it will be slippery.
Almost no precipitation is expected. Only in the southeastern regions is snow possible at night.
Black ice is forecast in some places on the country’s roads.
The wind will be mainly northern, 5–10 m/s.
Weather in Kyiv and the region
On February 1, it will be cold and dry in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. At night, the thermometer will show -21 to -23 degrees, and during the day, -14 to -16 degrees. There may be icy patches on the roads.
