On Wednesday, March 11, Ukraine will be hit by a wave of almost summer-like warmth. However, the cloudless sky is preparing an insidious trap—at night, temperatures may drop below zero in some places.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to a publication by the press service of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center on Facebook.
What to expect from the weather in Ukraine today
According to experts’ forecasts, during the day on March 11, the synoptic situation in Ukraine, and therefore the weather, will remain unchanged.
“The weather without precipitation will continue to be determined by a high-pressure field,” the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center specified.
It is noted that a moderate southwesterly wind will bring “slightly warmer air.”
“However , with clear skies at night, slight sub-zero temperatures are possible, and the warm spring breeze will be clearly felt during the day,” forecasters added.
Meanwhile, light cloud cover is possible in some areas (variable in the western regions).
The wind will be mainly southwesterly, with a speed of 5-10 m/s.
Averageair temperature in Ukraine:
- at night – from 3 degrees Celsius to 2 degrees below zero;
- during the day – around 12-17 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, in the northeast, in the Carpathians, and on the coast, it may be relatively cooler – from 9 to 14 degrees above zero.
What is forecast for Kyiv and the region
The weather in Kyiv and the Kyiv region is also expected to be slightly cloudy, with no precipitation.
The wind will be southwesterly, with a speed of 5-10 m/s.
Air temperature in Kyiv:
- at night – from 0 to 2 degrees Celsius;
- during the day – around 14-16 degrees Celsius.
Air temperature in the region:
- at night – from 3 degrees Celsius to 2 degrees below zero;
- during the day – around 12-17 degrees above zero.
