Ukraine is facing a variety of weather conditions: from severe night frosts in the north to spring warmth in Crimea. According to weather forecasters, on Sunday, February 22, the weather will be cloudy with clear spells, and dangerous icy conditions will persist on roads across almost the entire country.

Regional precipitation characteristics
Precipitation on this day will mainly affect the west and part of the south. In the western regions, as well as in the Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia regions, light snow is expected, which will turn into rain in some places during the day. At night, precipitation is also possible in the south of Odesa region. The rest of Ukraine will see no significant precipitation during the day.
Temperature contrasts
The temperature regime will remain uneven:
- Northeast: the coldest part of the country. At night, thermometers will drop to -18°, and during the day there will be a slight frost.
- Center and North: 10-15° below freezing is expected at night, and from -3° to 2° during the day.
- West and South: nighttime temperatures will be 1-6° below freezing, and during the day the air will warm up to 1 …6°.
- Crimea: the warmest region. At night, 0 …5°, during the day — up to 8° above zero.
Weather in the capital and Kyiv region
On February 22, it will be cloudy in the Kyiv region, but without precipitation. The main obstacle for drivers and pedestrians will be icy roads. In Kyiv, a significant cold snap is expected at night, with temperatures dropping to 10-12° below zero, but during the day, the temperature will rise to around 0°. The wind in the capital will be southwesterly, 5-10 m/s.
Storm warning for the Carpathians
The weather in the mountains will be more difficult. In addition to precipitation, wind gusts of 15-20 m/s are forecast in the Carpathians during the day, which tourists and local residents should take into account.
