Banks are on track to set a record for corporate income tax payments. Since the beginning of the year, they have paid UAH 50 billion. This was reported by the Ministry of Finance.

Banks paid UAH 49.7 billion in income tax in January-March 2024, including UAH 23.5 billion in March alone.

In 2023, Ukrainian banks paid UAH 73.5 billion in income tax, which is 10 times more than in 2022 and 11.5 times more than in 2021.

In the autumn of 2023, Ukraine was forced to introduce taxation of excess profits of banks at higher rates. In 2023, the rate was 50%, and in 2024 it was reduced to 25%.

In total, the state budget received UAH 60 billion of corporate and bank profit tax last month.
