7 November 2024 12:42
Street verification is the first stage of filling the register, which was launched on a large scale on July 24, 2024. All communities, except those in the combat zone or in the temporarily occupied territories, must complete the verification. This was reported by the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
In the first three months since the start of the project to create and fill the Unified State Register of Addresses, 25% of streets have been verified.
881 communities have already joined the project. The most active communities are those in Lviv, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Dnipro, and Poltava regions. 12 large cities (with a population of 100,000) and 112 communities have already fully completed the verification of their streets. The city of Sumy and the Zhydachiv community were the first to do so, respectively. All communities that have completed the verification of streets have moved on to the next stage – the verification of address numbers.

Why is the Unified State Register of Addresses being created?
This register is to become one of the basic registers of the country. The Unified State Register of Addresses is being introduced to systematize address information and create a single, complete, up-to-date source of address data. The address register should significantly improve the exchange of data between information systems, helping to reduce errors in addresses, counteract fraud in real estate ownership, and simplify the provision of social services. At the local level, the introduction of the registry will lead to better administration of real estate taxes by improving the quality of information and thus filling local budgets.
The registry was created taking into account the norms of the European framework for spatial data infrastructure INSPIRE, which in the future should facilitate the interoperability of data from the registry at the European level.
The Unified State Register of Addresses is being implemented in cooperation between the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine and the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine with the support of the Digital Transformation Support Project, funded by USAID and UK Dev.
