The New York Post writes that Andriy Yermak, the former head of the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, may “go to the front.” The newspaper refers to a letter allegedly received from Yermak, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“I’m going to the front and I’m ready for any reprisals,” the newspaper quotes Yermak as saying.

According to the former head of the presidential office, he was “offended” by the searches conducted by anti-corruption authorities in his home. In addition, according to Yermak, his dignity was not protected.

According to the newspaper, “he then apologized if he would no longer answer the phone.” Yermak did not provide details on how he would go to the front line and whether he would join the Ukrainian armed forces.

On the evening of November 28, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accepted Yermak’s resignation. The official was dismissed after a search of his apartment by anti-corruption officials. The West called the event a “political earthquake” and a “fatal combination.”

Yermak has not yet been officially charged. However, MP Oleksiy Honcharenko believes that the politician took part in the corruption schemes of businessman Timur Mindich. MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak said that Yermak appeared on Mindich’s tapes seized by NABU as Ali Baba.

yermak, 54, has served as the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine since February 11, 2020, and before that he was Zelensky’s assistant, dealing with foreign policy and international relations. Most recently, Yermak headed Kyiv’s negotiation team to resolve the war.
