The euro set a historic record in Ukraine: the NBU updated the exchange rate on February 19

A new historic high for the euro exchange rate has been recorded in Ukraine. The National Bank of Ukraine has raised the official exchange rate for the European currency, and on February 19, it will exceed the previous record. At the same time, the hryvnia has also weakened slightly against the US dollar.
The updated data was published on the official website of the National Bank of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
The official euro exchange rate set a new record on February 19
According to the NBU, on Thursday, February 19, the official euro exchange rate will be 51.26 hryvnia per euro, which is a new historic high in Ukraine.
For comparison
- On February 18, the euro exchange rate was 51.16 hryvnia
- the previous record was set on February 10 — 51.25 hryvnia.
Thus, in just one day, the hryvnia lost another 10 kopecks against the European currency.
Experts note that the rise in the euro exchange rate reflects general currency trends and the weakening of the hryvnia.
The dollar exchange rate also rose: how much will the currency cost
The National Bank also updated the official US dollar exchange rate.
As of February 19, the exchange rate is set at:
- 1 dollar — 43.29 hryvnia
For comparison
- On February 18, the exchange rate was 43.25 hryvnia
Thus, the hryvnia weakened against the dollar by 4 kopecks.
The situation on the interbank market: what exchange rates were set on the currency market
On the interbank currency market, as of February 18, the quotes were:
- dollar — 43.25 / 43.28 UAH
- euro — 51.13/51.15 UAH
These figures confirm the general trend towards a strengthening of the euro and a gradual weakening of the hryvnia.

The cash market is also reacting to the rise in the exchange rate
On the cash currency market, the dollar exchange rate also showed a slight increase.
As of February 18, the dollar costs on average about:
- 43.05 hryvnia
The euro is traditionally sold on the cash market at a higher price than the official exchange rate, depending on the bank and exchange office.
