“Eurovision Song Contest 2025: 10 finalists of the National Selection announced

More than 260 thousand Ukrainians chose the tenth finalist of the National Selection 2025 in Diia. It was singer Fiyinka, whose real name is Iryna Vykhovanets. This was reported by the National Public Television Company of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
79,699 (30.40%) of the survey participants voted for Fionka. It lasted from January 13 until 10:00 on Friday, January 17. You could vote for only one of the 10 candidates for the vacant finalist spot.
According to the data in the Diia app, the ranking of the songs based on the results of the poll was as follows:
- Fiinka – Kultura (79699 votes, 30.40%)
- Enleo – Supernova (41649 votes, 15.89%)
- Yagody – BramaYa (31676 votes, 12.08%)
- Muayad – Amnesia (28157 votes, 10.74%)
- Mon Fia – Dive Inside (24095 votes, 9.19%)
- Listen to Sasha – Live (19646 votes, 7.49%)
- Grisana – Kohoney (13637 votes, 5.20%)
- Brykulets – Crystal (10528 votes, 4.02%)
- Starykova Hrystyna – Rise (9652 votes, 3.68%)
- Ranrawi – Anymore (3431 votes, 1.31%)
Teslenko was also supposed to be on the list of candidates for a place in the final, but on December 27, UA:PBC stated that the artist’s management had asked to withdraw his candidacy and suspend his further participation in the National Selection for the National Anthem 2025, to which UA:PBC agreed.

It should be noted that Fiіnka prepared the song “Culture” for the National Selection.
Her entry song was accused of plagiarizing the song Con Altura by Spanish singer Rosalía. Tina Karol, the music producer of the national selection for Eurovision 2025, responded to the accusations and hinted that her competitors were behind the scandal with Fiinka’s song.
“I am glad that the participants and their songs do not leave anyone indifferent. There is no similarity between the songs in terms of tempo, harmony, rhythm, or content,” said Tina Karol. “In Fiinka, the word ‘hook’ sounds like ‘culture’, and in Rosalia it is con altura (meaning ‘behave with dignity’). This accusation of similarity is not competent.”
The singer also addressed Fiinka’s competitors in the national selection, urging them to “fight with honor”. Tina Karol hinted that they were behind the accusations against the participant of the national selection.
The final of the national selection is to be held on February 8.

According to the results of the voting in the Diia app, the following were elected to the jury of the National Selection 2025: Jamala, the singer and winner of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest; Serhiy Tanchynets, musician, producer, leader of the rock band Bez Obmezhen (No Limits); and Kateryna Pavlenko, frontwoman of Go_A.
the 69th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in the Swiss city of Basel. The Eurovision Grand Final will take place on Saturday, May 17, and the semifinals will be held on May 13 and 15, 2025.
The contest will be held at the St. Jakobshalle arena after Nemo won the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with the song “The Code”.
Accordingly, 38 countries will take part in the contest, 32 of which will compete in the semifinals. In the grand final, the 20 semi-final winners will be joined by representatives of the Big Five countries: Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, as well as last year’s winner Switzerland.
