Will Europe enter the war? Leaders of Germany, France, and Britain threaten Iran

2 March 02:29

The leaders of the E3 countries (Germany, France, and Britain) have threatened Iran with joining the US and Israeli operation if Tehran does not stop attacking countries in the Middle East that are not involved in the hostilities.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to a joint statement by the three countries, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

“The leaders of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom are outraged by Iran’s indiscriminate and disproportionate missile attacks against countries in the region, including those that did not participate in the initial military operations by the US and Israel,” the statement said.

The heads of state stressed that Iran’s “reckless attacks” are directed against Europe’s closest allies and threaten their military and civilian populations throughout the region.

In this regard, they call on Tehran to immediately cease its attacks, otherwise the E3 countries will join the hostilities.

“We will take the necessary measures to protect our interests and those of our allies in the region. This may include, if necessary, the use of proportionate military defensive measures to destroy Iran’s ability to launch missiles and drones at the source of their destruction,” the publication said.

In summary, the leaders added that they had agreed to cooperate with the US and their allies in the region on this issue.

Conflict in the Middle East

As a reminder, on Saturday, February 28, Israel and the US launched a joint attack on Iran to eliminate security threats. As it later turned out, the real key goal of the operation was to curb Tehran’s nuclear ambitions and destroy the country’s missile arsenal.

But, of course, the attacks provoked a response. Iran began launching missiles and drones toward Israel and other countries that did not participate in the attack on Tehran.

In particular, on Saturday, Iranian forces struck US military facilities in Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, and Kuwait.

On March 1, Iran fired ballistic missiles at military bases in Iraq and Jordan, where Bundeswehr soldiers were stationed.

In addition, Tehran fired missiles at British military bases in Cyprus.
