European guarantees for Ukraine: what Macron said in Paris

French President Emmanuel Macron has confirmed that European countries are ready to provide Ukraine with security guarantees immediately after the signing of a peace agreement with Russia. He made the statement during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Paris, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“We, the Europeans, are ready to provide guarantees to Ukraine on the day the peace is signed. This is what was said in Washington. The work that was set before us has been done, and today we can say: we are ready to give political support to these agreements,” Macron said.

According to the French president, after the talks in Washington, the allies are determined to help create stable conditions for peace in Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Paris to participate in the summit of the Coalition of the Willing, where the key topic is security guarantees for Ukraine. Earlier, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that he expects to receive more clarity on the format of these guarantees in the near future.
