First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy and Protection of Veterans’ Rights Mykhailo Tsymbalyuk said that from 1 April, working pensioners will receive higher payments. This is reported by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Komersant ukrainskyi https://www.komersant.info/ reports.

The recalculation will affect 2.7 million people, that is, almost every fourth pensioner. The size of the allowances will depend on the length of service and the amount of pension a person receives now. For some categories, the pension will increase by UAH 562.

“For every working pensioner, this is not such a big amount of money, but in general, it is still additional spending for the state budget. It is very important that, in principle, this increase in pensions for working pensioners is to cover a little more than the inflation rate, that is, all the rise in prices for food and some services today will be covered by this increase for working pensioners, and we think this trend will continue,”

– said the head of the committee.

Tsymbalyuk also reminded that the minimum wage will increase on 1 April.

“It is very important that this particular category of pensioners will also receive, as a rule, higher wages, because from 1 April the minimum wage will increase to UAH 8,000 and some of them work for the minimum wage, so this is also an important support for those people who do not receive much today,” he said,
