Over the past three years, more than 5,000 hectares of orchards have been planted in Ukraine. Volodymyr Pechko, chairman of the Ukrsadvynprom association, said this in an interview with the "Komersant Ukrainian" YouTube channel.

“Over the three years of war, we have planted more than 5,000 hectares. An investment in one hectare of garden is about 20-30 thousand dollars. If you choose the right varieties and organize sales, these investments are justified and provide foreign exchange earnings for the country,” he explained.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, despite the full-scale war, Ukraine retains a leading position among European producers of berries and fruits.

In 2023-2024, farmers were actively restoring plantations even in the frontline regions, particularly in the west and center of the country.

Earlier, the government introduced programs to partially compensate for the cost of planting orchards and developing processing to support producers in the crisis.
