Locked in the basement and thrown away: scandal over generator in Kamianets-Podilskyi
1 February 06:03
In the city of Kamianets-Podilskyi in the Khmelnytskyi region, the operating hours of the generator at the local heating station were restricted due to insults and threats directed at the utility worker.
This was reported by the Kamianets-Podilskyi City Council.
As explained by the city council, due to power outages in a high-rise building on Heroiv ZSU Street, 6, the individual heating station has stopped working. Therefore, during power outages, the heating station is powered by a generator, which is operated day and night by a responsible employee of the municipal utility company Miskteplovodenerhiya.
“For a peaceful sleep in a warm apartment, some residents ‘thank’ him with regular insults and threats. Garbage and all kinds of rubbish began to fly from the balconies onto the head of our employee. Well, the final ‘straw’ was when one of the residents of the building… locked our employee in the heating station. A person who was simply doing his job was locked out and left to spend the night in the basement,” the statement said.
In the end, the city council decided that from now on, the generator powering the heat distribution station in the building will only operate between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
