Russian troops have intensified their offensive in the Pokrovske direction. Several settlements are in the epicenter of the fighting, and the enemy is trying to break through the Ukrainian defense using numerical superiority and attrition tactics.
Will Ukraine be able to hold its ground under constant pressure? Why are the Russians no longer spending resources on rescuing their wounded? And whether the enemy has a chance to gain a foothold on the border with Dnipropetrovs’k region – in the article
The enemy is trying to advance in several areas at once – in the areas of Rusyn Yar, Poltavka, Popov Yar, Razyn, Volodymyrivka, Yelizavetivka and Malynivka. This was reported by the Khortytsia operational and strategic group of troops. The occupants are trying to force Ukrainian units out of their positions near Myrolyubivka, Sukhyi Yar, Lysivka, Vdalne, Novomykolayivka and Oleksiyivka.
“Russian troops are trying to use their numerical superiority and develop the offensive. Despite this, the Defense Forces are putting up a strong resistance, inflicting significant losses on the enemy,” reports the Khortytsia Joint Task Force.
Enemy advances relying on human factor – Ukrainian Armed Forces officer
In the Pokrovsk sector, the fighting remains tense, but both Ukrainian and Russian forces are exhausted. This was stated in a commentary for the
According to him, both sides are tired at the front, but the enemy is trying to continue offensive actions despite the losses.
“The parties are almost exhausted. The Russians still have offensive potential here, but they use it in the mode that their resources allow. Their tactics are now based on the human factor – that is, the fact that we may not be in time somewhere, we may make a mistake somewhere,” noted Tychy.
The officer emphasized that the occupiers, unlike the Ukrainian military, do not care about the lives of their soldiers. According to him, the approach to combat in Russia is impersonal – the enemy does not spend resources on evacuating or treating the wounded, preferring to simply “close the front with meat.”
“We have a different attitude. We fight for each of our own, spend our strength and resources, risking our lives to evacuate, save, and treat. This requires resources. It doesn’t work for Russians – they don’t value the lives of their subordinates or their own. They just move forward to get there,” said Yevhen “Tykhyi”.
According to the officer, the Russians completely devalue their own personnel, which is fundamentally different from the Ukrainian approach.
“We used to believe that wounding the enemy is better than killing them, because then evacuation, care, treatment are required, and the state spends resources. But this logic does not work with such an enemy. They don’t evacuate, they don’t treat, they just don’t care. So now it’s better to finish the job, because otherwise it doesn’t change anything,” explained Tykhyi.
Tykhyi also noted that, despite the difficult situation, the Ukrainian defense is holding out and responding to threats as effectively as its forces allow.
“We are on duty around the clock, we are constantly defending ourselves, but there are factors that cannot always be controlled. In ideal conditions, we would have held the enemy back even more tightly, but even now they cannot achieve a significant breakthrough,” added Yevhen “Tykhyi”.
Can the enemy gain a foothold on the border of Dnipropetrovska oblast
Stanislav Bunyatov, a soldier and military observer for the telegram channel “Sniper Speaks”, reported that Russians are advancing towards the administrative border of Dnipropetrovs’k region.
“The enemy is gradually advancing and trying to gain a foothold in the settlements near the border line. Due to the long length of the combat line and the lack of combat-ready personnel, the Ukrainian Armed Forces command is forced to identify priority areas for defense,” Bunyatov said.
Fighting continues in all areas of the frontline and the situation remains extremely tense. Ukraine’s defense forces are holding their positions, resisting the enemy’s superior forces and inflicting losses on them, reducing the effectiveness of further offensives.
