Death of MP Salamakha: State Bureau of Investigation reveals details of traffic accident

The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) is investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal traffic accident that occurred on the evening of January 25 in the village of Sokilnyky, Lviv region. The accident resulted in the death of Orest Salamakha, a member of the Ukrainian parliament from the Servant of the People party.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation.
According to preliminary information, at around 6:15 p.m., the quad bike driven by the deputy veered into the oncoming lane and collided with a minibus. None of the minibus passengers were injured.
As a result of the collision, Orest Salamakha suffered fatal injuries. He was hospitalized but later died in the hospital.
Currently, the issue of entering information into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations and opening criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of traffic safety rules, resulting in death or serious bodily injury – is being decided.
SBI employees are conducting preliminary investigative actions: examining the scene, interviewing witnesses, and collecting material evidence. The bureau emphasizes that a complete and objective investigation of all circumstances of the accident will be ensured.
The Office of the Prosecutor General is in charge of the case.
