Draft law on demobilisation may be submitted to the Rada as early as October: MP names conditions

A draft law on military demobilisation could be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada as early as October this year. At the same time, it is necessary to maintain the current pace of mobilisation. “In October, the government is to submit a draft law on dismissal from military service during martial law if the positive dynamics of mobilisation continues after the adoption of the new law,”
– mP Iryna Friz, a member of the Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence, told [comersant] in an exclusive commentary.
Earlier, Roman Kostenko, secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defence and Intelligence from the Golos faction , also announced such a timeline for the possible presentation of the draft law.
Back in April, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, Dmytro Lazutkin, said that a draft law on the demobilisation of servicemen was already being developed.
“It is clear that this topic is both important and sensitive for society. It is clear that people who are on the frontline need to be given a break, while at the same time, people with combat experience need to be replaced, taking into account many different aspects, including the need to replace them with trained fighters,” he explained,
– he explained.
According to Lazutkin, it was the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that expressed a wish that the issue of demobilisation be considered separately, rather than being included in the law on mobilisation.
