Aviation was brought in: firefighters extinguish Epicenter warehouses after Russian strike

On Tuesday morning, Russian occupation forces attacked Kyiv region with drones for the second time. This was announced by the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Mykola Kalashnyk, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

According to him, as a result of an enemy strike, warehouses on the territory of one of the logistics centers caught fire. Rescuers are working at the scene.

Hit to the “Epicenter”

Although Kalashnyk did not name a specific facility, social media reports indicate that it was the logistics center of the Epicenter retail chain in Fastiv district. This is the company’s largest logistics complex in Ukraine.

Eyewitnesses reported a massive fire, the smoke from which was visible even in Kyiv.

Residents of the capital were urged to close their windows tightly because of the thick carbon monoxide.

The State Emergency Service aviation was engaged to extinguish the fire.

Russian publics write about a deliberate attack by the occupiers on the logistics center of the Epicenter shopping center chain in Kyiv region.

Consequences of the strike

According to official reports, four private houses were damaged in the area of the attack:

  • four private houses
  • a warehouse,
  • 14 trucks and 9 cars.

In addition, two SES vehicles were damaged. Fortunately, the rescuers who were on the scene were not injured.

A second attack

According to Kalashnyk, the occupants struck again at the same facility when firefighters were eliminating the consequences of the first attack. This significantly complicated the work of the services.

At the same time, the Air Defense Forces destroyed some of the enemy targets, and no hits to critical infrastructure were recorded.
