Frosts and a warm spell: Weather forecast for March 20

On Friday, March 20, Ukraine will see cool but mostly dry weather. No significant precipitation is expected in most regions, though light rain is possible in some areas. This was reported by meteorologist Natalka Didenko, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
What will the temperature be?
According to the forecast, nighttime temperatures will range from 3 to -2 degrees, so light frosts are possible in some regions.
During the day, temperatures will rise:
- in most regions — up to 7…12°
- in the southeast — up to 9–14°
Despite the cool weather, forecasters predict typical spring weather without any sudden atmospheric changes.
Where precipitation is possible
Light rain at night is possible in:
- Poltava region
- Sumy region.
No significant precipitation is expected in other regions of Ukraine.
What will the weather be like in Kyiv
Precipitation is unlikely in the capital on March 20. Daytime temperatures will be around 7–10 degrees.
Forecaster Natalka Didenko joked:
“Tomorrow in Kyiv, you can ‘show off’ your new wool coat, gradually start ditching those oversized down jackets, avoid looking like a scarecrow, and even show off a bit of a silhouette under your coat.”

Forecasters also remind us that March 20 marks the spring equinox. In 2026, it will begin at 4:45 p.m. Kyiv time.
It is after this date that daylight hours begin to increase more rapidly, and the spring warmth becomes more noticeable.
