Ukrzaliznytsia Train Delays on March 24: Which Trains Are Running Late and Where Routes Have Been Changed

On the morning of March 24, trains are experiencing delays in several regions due to a combined attack by the Russian military on Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"

Passengers are urged to closely monitor announcements at train stations and updates on the carrier’s official websites.

Train delays heading toward Kyiv

In particular, delays have been reported for trains from the Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions heading toward the capital:

  • Train No. 6606 Malyn – Kyiv is delayed by 32 minutes
  • Regional Train No. 886/885 Slavutych – Kyiv-Volynskyi departed with a delay of approximately 1 hour.

Train delays in Poltava Oblast

The most significant disruptions have been reported in the Poltava region. There, a number of trains are running significantly behind schedule:

  • No. 6531 Poltava-Pivdenna – Kremenchuk — delay of up to 1.5 hours
  • No. 6722 Romodan – Poltava-Pivdenna — approximately 1 hour 19 minutes
  • No. 6571 Berestyn – Poltava-Pivdenna — over 1 hour
  • No. 6538 Kobelyaky – Poltava-Pivdenna — delay of 55 minutes
  • No. 6572 Poltava-Pivdenna – Berestyn — over 1 hour

Ukrzaliznytsia notes that specialists are working to minimize delays as much as possible.

Operational changes to train schedules in the Kharkiv region

Due to the security situation, the routes of some trains in the Kharkiv region have been temporarily changed:

  • Train No. 6001 ran on the Dergachi–Kharkiv route instead of the Slatine–Kharkiv route
  • The following trains have been temporarily canceled:
    • No. 6004 Kharkiv – Slatine
    • No. 6007 Slatine – Kharkiv.

Some trains were also rerouted to the Derhachi station.

Changes in Volyn and Rivne regions

Train No. 6353 Lutsk – Zdolbuniv departed from Olyka Station with a 27-minute delay due to a priority train being given right of way.

Ukrzaliznytsia recommends:

  • monitor announcements at stations
  • check online updates
  • take possible delays into account when planning trips

The carrier also emphasizes that in some cases, delays are necessary to ensure passengers can make their connections.
