The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plans to raise electricity tariffs for households from 1 June, and the new tariffs are already known. This was reported by the RBC-Ukraine agency, according to [Kommersant]
The agency cited sources in the government and the electricity market.
“Starting from 1 June, the tariff for consumption up to 100 kW will remain the same – UAH 2.64/kWh, for anything more, there will be a new tariff – UAH 4.8/kWh,”
– the source said.
According to him, the tariff has already been agreed and will be approved at tomorrow’s government meeting.
Thus, tariffs will not change for the most economical users who use less than 100 kW of electricity per month. Everyone else will pay almost double the tariff for anything above the basic amount.
The possibility of an increase in electricity tariffs was discussed after the largest-scale Russian attack on the Ukrainian energy sector, and the Cabinet of Ministers did not rule out the possibility of a tariff increase. However, it was expected that the increase would not be as significant.
It is known that Centrenergo has lost 100% of its generation, and DTEK has damaged 80% of its capacity.
Ukrenergo urges Ukrainians to save electricity during peak hours.
