Ukrainian national teams triumphantly start the season in the Golden Euroleague

Both the men’s and women’s national volleyball teams of Ukraine have made a winning start in this year’s Golden Euroleague. The teams won two victories each and consolidated their position among the championship leaders, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Men’s Euroleague
On Saturday, 18 May, the Ukrainian men’s national team beat Romania 3-1 (20:25, 25:21, 25:23, 25:19). On Sunday, 19 May, Ukraine defeated Azerbaijan 3-0 (25:16, 25:16, 25:23).
Thus, after two rounds, the Ukrainian men’s national volleyball team is in second place in the standings. Ukraine is second only to the Czech Republic, which won both its matches with a score of 3:0. It will be recalled that the first four teams will qualify for the play-offs after six rounds.

The men’s national team of Ukraine has the following matches to play in the regular season:
- 25 May, 21:30: Ukraine – Czech Republic (Luxembourg);
- 26 May, 19:30: Luxembourg – Ukraine (Luxembourg);
- 31 May, 21:00: Portugal – Ukraine (Ukraine);
- 2 June, 21:00: Ukraine – Belgium (Ukraine).
Women’s Euroleague
The Ukrainian women’s national team also won two games at the start of the tournament. In the first match on 18 May, the Ukrainians had no trouble coping with the Slovenian national team – 3:2 (23:25, 25:15, 20:25, 25:17, 15:11). And on 19 May, Ukraine overlooked the Estonian team – 3:0 (25:11, 25:14, 25:13).
Thus, Ukraine’s women’s national team currently ranks third, behind Belgium and the Czech Republic, as the 3-2 victory over Slovenia brought only two points, not three. Instead, Belgium and the Czech Republic got the maximum number of points. Just like in the men’s tournament, the first four teams will qualify for the playoffs after six rounds.
