The government should decide to increase funding for combat units within a week. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a video address, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“The combat brigades will get this opportunity very quickly. The government should make a decision this week. Money is also provided. It is very important that we increase the funds for the brigades for procurement. This is direct funding. They will have more opportunities to meet their combat needs. This includes drones and more. We have agreed to change the approach to determining the amount of funding,” Zelenskyy said.
According to him, the period between submitting an award and its presentation will also be shortened. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has already determined which documents and approvals are unnecessary.
“Instead of the old award books, there will be new documents so that they do not have to be filled in manually. The deadlines should be such that people really feel respect for themselves and their actions in defense of our country,” the president said.
He added that decisions on other fundamental issues are also being prepared.
“The issue of motivation, the issue of personnel, the issue of training centers, communication to the level of battalion and company, all this has also been worked out. There will be decisions,” Zelensky said.
