Zelenskyy goes to Brussels for coalition meeting, then with leaders to visit Trump

On August 17, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is traveling to Brussels for a meeting of the Coalition of the Resolute. After that, he will travel to the United States with European leaders.

This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on X (Twitter).

The official said that today, August 17, she would welcome Zelenskyy in Brussels. Together they will take part in a meeting of the “coalition of the resolute”.

The European Commission President said that she, along with Zelenskyy and European leaders, would meet with Trump on August 18.

“At the request of President Zelenskyy, I will join a meeting with President Trump and other European leaders at the White House tomorrow,” she said.

Germany reported that Chancellor Friedrich Merz would also travel with Zelenskyy to see Trump. According to Sky News, the President of Ukraine will also be accompanied by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

French President Emmanuel Macron and Finnish President Alexander Stubb will join the meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump . NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is also expected to attend.

The US president reportedly invited European leaders.
