Zelensky awarded 16 Ukrainian cities with the title of Hero

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has awarded the title of Hero to 16 cities – Pavlohrad, Nikopol, Marhanets, Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, Sloviansk, Hulyaypol, Orikhiv, Voznesensk, Bashtanka, Sumy, Trostianets, Kupiansk, and Starokostiantyniv.
The head of state announced this in his Telegram message, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“Today, on the Day of Defenders, on the Intercession, we in Ukraine celebrate everyone who has contributed to the defense of our country, who makes their efforts to make the whole country succeed. And it is right to celebrate our communities in Ukraine, our cities, which often take on the greatest burden of protection and resilience. Today, on this Day of Defenders, on the Intercession, we are also celebrating hero cities – cities of heroes. I have signed a decree. Cities that have saved thousands of lives of our people. Cities that are defending our entire state in the full sense of the word,” Zelensky said.
The President noted that Pavlohrad, Nikopol, and Marhanets were awarded the title of “Hero City of Ukraine” in Dnipropetrovs’k region. Cities of Donetsk region: Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, Sloviansk. Gulyaypole and Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia. Voznesensk and Bashtanka are cities in Mykolaiv region. Sumy, Trostianets – in Sumy region, Kupiansk – in Kharkiv region. Starokostiantyniv is a city in Khmelnytskyi region.
He reminded that since the beginning of the full-scale war, 10 cities have been awarded the title of Heroes – Bucha, Volnovakha, Gostomel, Irpin, Mariupol, Mykolaiv, Okhtyrka, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv.
